Clinical Evaluation of Anesthetic Experiences with 30202 cases


Abstract
To evaluate previously performed anesthetic experiences at the Se Jong General Hospital from Jan. 1985 to De. 1994, total 30202 cases were analyzed statistically according to sex, age, department, emergency rate. Duration of anesthesia, and
anesthetic
methods & agents. Local anesthetic cases were excluded in this analysis.
The results were as follows:
1) The number of cases tended to increase year by year except 1992.
2) Sexual distribution was as follows
: male 13681 cases (45.3%). Female 16521 cases (54.7%)
3) According to age category, the 2nd decade was (24.1%) most frequent. 1st decade 18.5%, 3rd decade 18.4% in order.
4) Emergency cases for 10 years occupied 22.6% of total cases.
5) According to emergency percentation in each department, OB-GY was most high (37.5%). Next was GS(35.3%). NS (33.7%) in order.
6) considering anesthetic duration. 1-2 hour duration group of anesthetic time was most frequent.
7) According to anesthetic methods, inhalation anesthesia was 66.4%, balanced 21.1%, regional 9.4% in order. Major inhalation anesthetic agent tended to change from halothane to enflurane and isoflurane recently.
